Big Queer Picnic!

Come and picnic with us at Didsbury Park! ☀️

In a fun departure from our usual walking schedule, Suzy and Josie will be hosting a Queer Out Here picnic on Saturday 16th August and we’d love to see you there! 🌈✨

We’ll meet from 12pm on the grass outside the Pavillion Cafe in Didsbury Park - just look for the bunting and that’s where we’ll be. The picnic will officially run until 3pm but, of course, you’re welcome to stay at the park or move onto a Didsbury pub after that if you wish! 🌻

When: 12.00 Saturday 16 August

Where: Didsbury Park

What to bring:

🌱 A blanket or something to sit on

🍓 Snacks and drinks for yourself (and, if you would like to, some bits for our communal snack table)

✨ SPF just in case our manifestations for a sunny day pay off

💦 A bottle of water. Stay hydrated!

We’ll be bringing some outdoor games like rounders, boules, bat and ball - we’d love for some folks to take the lead on organising for anyone who wants to play! We also really welcome you to bring along crafts, books or anything else that you’d like to do for the afternoon 🥰

The vibes: will be a wholesome and cosy afternoon to connect with new and old friends, enjoy some sunshine (🤞🏼), and get into the outdoors in a relaxing way. We can’t wait to see you!

Travel: Didsbury Park is well connected by bus, metro and train. There isn’t a designated car park but you may be able to get on-street parking nearby.

Toilets and access: The nearest toilets on the day will be in the Pavillion Cafe. The park is wheelchair accessible.

Park rules: Dogs are welcome at both the park and the picnic (but may need to be on leads in certain parts of the park so do check). Barbecues aren’t allowed in the park.

What about the weather? If it’s looking like TORRENTIAL rain, then we will have to move the event. But otherwise (like if it’s just cloudy or giving possible showers) we will go ahead. British Summertime darlings!
